Pay Up America!

Politicians are good at talking and saying one thing but actually meaning another or saying one thing that applies to you and I but there’s a whole different set of rules for them.  Take a look at Sean Hannity’s “Liberal Translation” of Obama’s words….

And the Era of Big Governement Has Returned!

You thought it was over but it looks like it’s back and Obama is it’s Champion!

Millions of Americans have viewed “big government” with a sharp, almost visceral skepticism ever since the enactment of LBJ’s Great Society. Disillusioned with welfare programs, chafing under federal civil rights laws and angered by social unrest and rising tax rates, conservative Democrats and Republicans relentlessly decried government as bureaucratic, wasteful and flat-out ineffectual. The ground is beginning to shift beneath our feet, however, as the collapsing national economy slowly upends this long-running theme in America’s political culture. (NY Daily News)

The New American Tea Party

For 8 long years we have heard liberals claim that “dissent is the highest form of patriotism.” Wonder if they feel that way now???

Today, thousands of patriots gathered in cities across the country,in a grass roots movement,to protest the unbelievable government spending that has occurred in the last month. In just 12 days the federal government has spent over 1.2 trillion dollars to bailout failure and irresponsibility. What do you get? 13 dollars a week. Michelle Malkin has been covering the Tea Parties and has some great photos.

Scenes from the DC Tea Party on Feb. 27, 2009, at which hundreds of taxpayers rallied in support of free markets and limited governments – and against endless bailouts.

First Lt. Michael BehennaArmy officer, First Lt. Michael Behenna facing a murder charge testified Thursday that he shot and killed an Iraqi after the detainee reached for his gun during an interrogation.

First Lt. Michael Behenna said he was trying to defend himself and hadn’t planned to shoot the detainee when he took him aside for questioning in the Iraqi desert. Behenna of Edmond, Okla. is charged with premeditated murder, assault and making a false statement. The premeditated murder charge carries a mandatory life sentence without parole. Forgive me but wouldn’t all killing at a time of war be considered premeditated?? Surely people didn’t think our troops were sent there to play tiddlywinks.

Prosecutors argue that Behenna intended to kill Ali Mansour Mohammed in May 2008 during an interrogation near a secluded railroad culvert near a U.S. military base. They’ve said Behenna had no remorse for the killing and justified it to others by saying Mohammed was a bad man.

Watermelons on White House lawnDean Grose, mayor of a small Southern California city, says he will resign after being criticized for sharing an e-mail picture depicting the White House lawn planted with watermelons under the title “No Easter egg hunt this year.”

Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose issued a statement Thursday saying he is sorry and will step down as mayor at Monday’s City Council meeting.

Grose came under fire for sending the picture to what he called “a small group of friends.” One of the recipients, a black local businesswoman and city volunteer, Keyanus Price, publicly scolded the mayor for his actions.

“I have had plenty of my share of chicken and watermelon and all those kinds of jokes,” Price told The Associated Press. “I honestly don’t even understand where he was coming from, sending this to me. As a black person receiving something like this from the city-freakin’-mayor – come on.”

A Scary Growing Trend

kkkHere we rant and bitch and gripe about things that piss us off, no big deal.  I feel that we have legitimate reasons but we don’t expect everyone to agree with us about everything.  Politics, the economy, jobs, etc. it’s the stuff everyone bitches about but today I came across an article about a new and growing trend that is actually scary.  It seems the there is a growing rise in hate groups and I’m talking about the hard core groups, since the election and even before, no doubt.

- Report: the number of hate groups grew by 54 percent since 2000
- Obama’s election win fueled some to join hate groups, study found
-The FBI’s uniform crime report found 7,624 hate crime incidents in 2007
-Obama is a “visual aid” that helps lure new members, says neo-Nazi

Groups like the KKK are seeing a rise in membership that is unprecedented in modern times.  Just look at the history of the KKK and imagine them taking hold today.  Scary.

Now, if you’re going to have a problem with Obama, fine, but for God’s sake, make sure it’s for the right reasons!  If you don’t like his politics, fine, but if you just dislike, or hate the man for his skin color, that’s just wrong.  It seems like that is the galvanizing issue for too many people.

On the day after Obama’s historic election, more than 2,000 people joined his Web site, a remarkable increase from the approximately 80 new members a day he was getting, Black said. His Web site, which was started in 1995, is one of the oldest and largest hate group sites. The site received so many hits that it crashed after election results were announced. The site boasts 110,000 registered members today, Black said.
